Robin Bone was born in Harrow Weald, Middlesex, and studied composition with Elisabeth Lutyens. Several performances of his compositions have taken place in the UK, France, Germany and the USA, as well as on BBC Radio Three. He went on to study Fine Art at Farnham College of Art and Design, and now lives in West Yorkshire.
Over the past eight years he has been using a montage technique, often using two paintings of the same subject which become reconfigured, involving an element of chance. The panels of the abstract polyptychs can be arranged until a satisfactory result is achieved. They use mixed media, but are mainly acrylic on paper.
